Siberian Tigers
Siberian tigers are one of wilde mammals. The scientific name of this animal is
Phantera tigris altalica. This animal can also called Amur tiger. Amur tigers
are the largest of all tigers, as well as the largest of all of cats.
Siberian tigers look like a big cat with black stripes and orange and white
body. The ground colour of siberian tiger's pelage is often very pale
especially in winter coat. To survive in winter this animal has fine but
long fur and a layer of fat that allows it to stand the bitter cold. It has
large paws which act rather like snow shoes.
Amur tigers is larger than the Bengal
tigers and the African lion. The male of Siberian tiger can grow up to
3,3 meters long and weigh up to 300 kilograms. And the female can grow up to
about 2,6 meters from head to tail and weigh about 100-167 kilograms.
We can find Siberian tigers in the Armur-Usuri region of Siberia, Northern
China, Korea, Russian Far East, and also East Asia. They move on four legs.
This animal eats meat, so it belongs to carnivore.
Siberian tigers reproduce after a gestation period of 104-106 days, two or four
blind cubs are born in a den and they suckle from their mother who rarely
leaves them, except for hunt. Siberian tigers reach sexual maturity at four
years of age. She will spend 5 to 6 days with the male.
